Our condensate tanks or hot wells are designed to perform several essential functions such as providing feed water to the generator, acting as a reservoir for the condensate return, decreasing oxygen concentration and mixing with water treatment chemicals. An important feature of the Clayton condensate tank is that it is a partial deaerator capable of removing most of the oxygen, which is the major cause of corrosion in the feed water. The condensate tank is heated by steam to maintain a controlled temperature around 90 ° C to 95 ° C and the dwell time is calculated to ensure that the oxygen level is sufficiently reduced.

Clayton condensate tanks are available as horizontal or vertical vessels. They are supplied with special inducer tubes, temperature control, automatic level control and automatic filling. For large flows of steam, high pressure steam or superheated steam system the semi closed system with a pressurized tank is usually recommended.

The Clayton Back Pressure Regulation Valves can be supplied with each steam generator to control the minimum generator pressure, thus ensuring a stable steam flow which also isolates the generator from the installation, protecting it in periods of inactivity. This component is essential in the automatic start system.

The Clayton Chemical Dosing Systems will maintain a correct water quality, being a requirement of all types of steam production plants. The systems include a storage tank of chemical products of size adapted to the Clayton Steam System and a membrane pump for the injection of chemical products, PLC controlled to adjust the correct amount of chemicals injected. The chemical dosing system guarantees a long life of the equipment.

Clayton Water Softeners are of automatic ion exchange type, which removes the hardness of the untreated supply water. Since water softeners have to be regenerated periodically, they are available as an individual unit (simplex) in plants where the Clayton Steam Generator will be stopped during regeneration, and as a double unit (twin) for continuous or long periods of operation of the generator.

The Clayton Water Analysis Kit provides a simple and convenient way to measure the quality of the feed water supply to the Clayton Steam Generator. The kit includes the necessary material to carry out tests of hardness, sulfites, conductivity and pH.

The Clayton Booster Pumps will ensure that the minimum NPSH is maintained on the main Clayton Pump when the condensate tank/hotwell is mounted at a low level. The Booster Pumps are selected according to the characteristics of the generators supplied.

The Clayton Blowdown Tanks are designed to safely process the flows of the manual or automatic blowdown systems of the Clayton Steam Generator. Blowdown tanks can be supplied with discharge cooling systems if necessary.

Clayton Water Treatment Chemicals are specially formulated to maintain the correct water conditions and protect the Clayton Steam Generation System. The use of these chemicals guarantees trouble-free operation and a long life of the equipment. Chemical products are available in liquid or powder and are easily dosed using our automatic Dosing Systems.
